21st - 23rd October 2011

October 21st, 2011

On Friday I went out again, Forest, I would take off before installation of the mast down to do some nice connections. Because the dark all the time there was no activity, I had to listen to the beacon RX LX1DB (JN39co = 530 km) from the entire time I was listening to a lighthouse listening to about 30%! including nice reflections from aircraft.
22.10.2011 Saturday morning, the frost is all gray and some of the worst conditions for the entire year. Only after 13:30 UTC sun appears and how it changes height inversion starting to hear some beacons (which are normally hear). Despite the very bad conditions and almost the same frequency as OK0ET still hear LX1DB lighthouse. In 15 hours F6DKW utc Maurice asked for test 3cm, to my surprise the 539 CW and SSB after 55. Very pleasant variety, thanks to Maurice. After 17 Lighthouse utc LX1DB the 559th Later, Eckhard do with the QSO DK7QX although a weak signal but fine. I watch the lights, but no glory.
Sunday morning, nice weather, but fog at lower elevations. Nothing happens, so we pack and go home.

14th - 16th October 2011

October 16th, 2011

Produce clouds On Friday, 14 October I went to the hill. According to predictions it could go to the SHF bands, but unfortunately nothing. Lighthouses just local, so I went to bed early.
Saturday morning, a beautiful view of the inversion. Viewing lighthouse band and still nothing. Only the sun began to build, and with him beacons to 3 cm LX1DB, PI7RTD, PI7ALK, ON0GHZ, DB0GHZ OZ5SHF and usually with nice signals to the peak of 599 +. In the morning I just made a connection with Frank PA2M JO21ip in a failed attempt with John G3XDY. Before noon I was doing combined with Eckhard DK7QX (JO42kh) with reports 579 which is much stronger than usual. Around noon beacon signals weaken, to some cease to be heard. I'll see how it will vypydat and later in the evening. After sunset lighthouse DB0VC plays 599 +30 dB and the beacon is heard OZ1UHF 785 km. Managed together with Jens SM6AFV (JO67gq) 795 km. Until late into the night you can hear beacons from Denmark.
Sunday morning still plays, and beacon DB0VC OZ5SHF. After a failed test SM0DFP Per Viewing and other beacons can be heard DB0ANU unusually strong. Lighthouses gradually disappears so slowly packed and give direction to retreat home. During the contest A1 goes down and the equipment will undergo some improvements over the winter and maintenance, because after 10 years of continuous residence and operation in harsh environments are beginning to show some ailments.

End of September 2011

September 29th, 2011

On Tuesday afternoon passed over my home QTH storm with heavy rain and hail. By Wednesday, 9.28 I got up the hill later in the evening. After about one hour I prolaďoval beacons on 3cm band and found that they are getting stronger and gain more and more that are not normally hear. In addition to normal beacons are heard as OZ5SHF, OZ1UHF, OZ7IGY, DB0GHZ, and DB0HRO LA1UHG (JO59FB) which is 965 km! Among other things, I do four flights to Denmark and LA3EQ test was unsuccessful. Apart from a few intervals LA1UHG beacon is heard far into the night. LA1UHG plays constantly all night and all morning, all the lighthouses in massive forces.
During sunset moon Thursday, 9.29 - Another test LA3EQ, this time some indication signals, but the connection Sun Further tests in SM and managed to link with Carl Gustaf SM6HYG (JO58) and one hundred and first order square. Lighthouses and stations are QRV powerful forces in play, though probably at 12 utc quickly all over. He began to show the influence of solar radiation and so we will probably have to wait for a late evening hours. It's a little before midnight beacons popped out but it's just a distillation conditions yesterday.
Friday morning, beautiful weather, warm. Lighthouses on the 3 cm band slightly raised, but no miracle. During the day, under any pair of the evening trying not much connection signals. Only in conjunction with Marc F6DWG / p (JN19aj) is managed and partly tropo aircraftscatter. Lighthouses still in the red so we'll see tomorrow morning.
So we already have and October, conditions in the morning not much. But they do begin to appear and grow around lighthouses, we'll see what happens in the race. I'll just give away points again.
inversion line visible over north Czech During the race, although conditions have changed enough, and some sites could do at 3 cm QSO pair, but overall quite disappointing. If I sent daily to the plant and at 10 GHz would score about 000 points less than 10 in 38 QSOs. To all who are interested in QSO thank you and sorry that some connection has failed. This part of the Indian summer was very interesting in terms of weather. Beautiful weather, temperatures in the mountains just met a very pleasant humidity for even better condx for SHF in Central Europe. At the beginning of the passage of the front conditions were great. So looking back at the past days.
